William Morrow The Dangerous Book for Boys

Hal Iggulden & Conn Iggulden
$17
This book bills itself as being perfect for boys "8 to 80" — and in fact, over 1.5 million copies have been sold (!) and it's currently being made into an Amazon Prime series, so the appeal is just as broad as advertised. It's a refreshing compendium of all those hallmarks of quintessential American boyhood (paper airplanes, tree forts, spy codes, major battles, the mystery of girls) that almost seems more useful in 2018 than ever. And not everything is stereotypically masculine, either. It also addresses knots, skimming stones, cloud formations, and the Declaration of Independence. Snapchat is not covered. We think that's a good thing. Anyway, this book is super-charming without talking down to its reader, and makes a great gift for boys of all ages.
